What I Find Inspiring Right Now

It's the energy of us human beings and our collective action and reaction towards the pandemic that keeps the momentum going.

Last year we had no clue we would be in such a situation. The pandemic has changed so many things for us; the stay-at-home order, the way we consume news, the way we communicate, and even the way we perceive things. If I say it hasn't taken a toll on my mental health, then I would be lying. It's hard for us all, but the thought that we are in this together keeps me motivated.

People have just been awesome, in general. Let's start with the frontline workers and all other essential employees who are going out and working to make sure we stay home and be safe. As I said earlier, these are true heroes.

You can sense a change in the world instantly, and I am not just talking about the environment here. People are engaging and expressing themselves in so many different forms, and technology has made it possible for us all to experience it too.

Making a conscious decision of staying home and abiding by the social distancing protocols is what the rest of us heroes are doing. Some are showing their cooking skills through delish food, some are showcasing their talents on the various social media platforms for the first time, some are achieving their fitness goals, and some are just slowing their pace and taking a breather. It doesn't matter in which set we belong, because honestly, we're creating our rules now, aren't we? Plus, I love that the creative spirit that has just amped up, in general. The two stand-out things for me on social media were Some Good News hosted by John Krasinski on Youtube and Kobe Eats, the one-year-old chef on Instagram. But it just stresses the point of how we humans have what it takes to get through this for sure.

Of course, all this comes with our privilege, and as we experience the different shades of the pandemic, I think we should acknowledge this information too. In the end, I can just say that I am truly grateful for everything I have right now.

Love,

Rashmi B.
