A Year Of Firsts

There is no clear way to talk about the situation we are going through right now. We all are looking forward to everything going back to normal, but at the same time, we are questioning whether if it will ever be. When I started to think about going back to personal blogging in January, I had no clue the conversation would be completely different. I had pictured my first blog to be light and welcoming; talking about all the firsts this year was going to bring on. As I worked on the nuances of the blog, the news started pouring in. Suddenly, the world didn't seem like the one we knew. The timing didn't feel right, and it was on the back burner right away. Then one day, while I was reading the news, an idea built up in my mind. It was the thought of how we want to press rewind, as we reluctantly hit pause, but are afraid to hit the forward button. That's when it hit me. I was doing the same with this blog and the ideas that have been brewing in my mind. So, I decided to hit the forward button. I will share my thoughts, ideas, and my first experiences here. For me, this year is going to be momentous not because it's the year of firsts but because it is the year we get through this together. Whether you are the brave hero out there doing your essential job or you're in your house, making sure social distancing is successful, remember we are all in this together.
